Understanding, Applying and Making the 1% Difference

Every day hundreds of decisions are made by managers and individual contributors that ultimately impact your company and business unit financial results, positively or negatively. If they don't know how their decisions and actions affect profitability, your company may be losing millions of dollars in growth, profit, and cash flow every year.

Employees make hundreds of decisions every day like:

Sales and customer service reps who make pricing, volume and margin decisions

Managers & Supervisors who control operating expenses

Purchasing agents who impact inventories and cost of goods sold

The credit and collection department who impact cash flow

If your organization is like most others, many of your managers do not fully understand the financial impacts of their decisions and operating activities and so cannot make decisions that optimize their contributions to your bottom line

Over the past several years we have worked with dozens of companies to help improve revenue growth, profit margins, asset management, and service levels. Our approach is simple. In a one-day Profit Adventure®, workshop people learn in a non-threatening, fun and engaging manner:

1.

How your organization makes money – profitable growth and positive cash flow

2.

How their daily decisions and operating activities impact profitability.

3.

How small changes to key profitability drivers have a huge multiplier effect on your bottom line (the 1% difference).

They become committed to finding small improvements in your business when they see the impact these improvements will have. The workshop combines the advantages of an engaging and fun board game simulation in the morning with activities to identify and prioritize actions to improve critical financial results in the afternoon.

Actions are recorded and given to management for evaluation and implementation.  It is this focus on using actions identified in the workshop as the basis for financial improvement initiatives that enables the company to state 'The implementation of Profit Adventure® will improve financial results within six months and unite participants to a common set of objectives".

Some of the companies that have benefited from our unique workshop, Profit Adventure®, include Industrial Alliance, Kimberly Clark, Dupont Chemical, Xerox, Kimberly Clark, and 3M.
